Five for Friday, April 22nd

Well hello there friends!  I have obviously been very bad about blogging the last few months… no surprise there, but since I had the day off today I thought I would try to get back into the swing of things with my favorite linky party!  Thanks again to Doodle Bugs Teaching for hosting this linky every friday 🙂  Incase you’re new to this linky the rules are pretty simple… post 5 random things about your week and link up!  So here goes…

Incase you haven’t heard….

Minnesotans are  mourning Prince’s death right now…

The crazy part is that this past weekend I was just a mile away from Paisley Park when Prince threw his very last party.  If only I had known!  I actually drove past it when I was going to get dinner at Chipotle and shop at Target lol.  Disclaimer- I am not from MN haha

The whole reason that I was down in Chanhassen, MN this past weekend was to do a presentation.  I was honored to be asked by Education Minnesota to present on Culturally Responsive Teaching at the AFT Professional Development Conference.  The presentation went awesome- even though it was the first time I had stood in high heels for an extended period of time in QUITE awhile (ouch).  On Tuesday I received an email asking me if I would be interested at presenting again, this time at a college up in Duluth!

After a gorgeous week last week we’ve had a little bit of a cool down- but that hasn’t stopped us from enjoying our new big yard!

I’m pretty sure we’re in store for a fun summer now that both kiddos are bigger (and potty trained etc.)  This little guy is signed up for soccer and he’s pretty excited about it!

Lastly, what day off would be complete without a little product creating?!  I’m working hard to finish up my classroom decor themes that are inspired by my teacher friends.  I’m planning to release them all on Memorial Day weekend!
